House price rises accelerated in September for the sixth consecutive month, hitting the fastest pace since October 2002. New buyer enquiries grew for the 16th consecutive month, the longest run on record but the September rise was at the slowest pace since April. New instructions to sell declined for the fourth consecutive month and at the swiftest pace since June 2002. The stock of unsold property on the market fell in September to the lowest level since August 2004. Surveyor confidence in the sales outlook over the next three months has slipped slightly on interest rate outlook. Confidence in the price outlook for the next three months is at its highest level since March 2004.
