In the construction industry, the rate of reported fatal injuries between 1999-2000 and 2005-06 fell by around 36%, and the rate of reported major injuries fell by around 22%. For the first time, the number of major injuries resulting from slips, trips and falls on the same level was higher than those due to falls from height.
