Presents data on housing activity in Scotland for July to September 2006. Includes information on public sector house sales, new house building, and local authority lettings and evictions. The main points to emerge from the bulletin are: new house building - 6408 new dwellings were started during the period July to September 2006, 1080 (20%) more than during the same period in the previous year. 6248 dwellings were completed, 395 (7%) more than during the same period in 2005; sales of social sector dwellings - a total of 1968 public authority dwellings were sold to sitting tenants in the period July to September 2006, a decrease of 441 (18%) on the same period in 2005; lettings and evictions - during the quarter July to September 2006, there were 7796 permanent lettings of local authority dwellings, 42 (0.5%) less than during the same quarter in the previous year. There were 247 evictions of local authority tenants this quarter, 32 (15%) more than during July to September 2005.
