On 2 March 2007 individuals from key valuation standards organisations, including RICS, signed the Vancouver Valuation Accord to address the relationship between sustainability and valuation. The Accord is a commitment to: reviewing how sustainability relates to the practice and standards of valuation; promoting awareness of and competency in the appropriate methods of addressing sustainability in valuations and appraisals; educating and informing about sustainability and its relationship to value; and regularly reporting on progress with a full report expected in 2010.
