Examines the attitudes of building professionals in China towards resource use and sustainable development, and highlights the key issues that need to be addressed. The research shows that local economic and social conditions are a factor is shaping opinions, for example, at the local level, energy use is seen as necessary in the economic growth of Shenyang. However, there is an understanding that economic growth is creating problems that need to be addressed, in particular, air pollution in Hong Kong and river pollution in Shenyang.
