Seeks to demonstrate that obstructions to the view can have a negative effect on the value of a property. Uses the technique of intervention analysis to investigate the effects of an obstruction on two condominium projects in Singapore. Results show that the introduction of an obstruction had an immediate and lasting effect on property prices. The impact was of a pure jump function, leading to an 8% long term depression in price.
