Explores some of the ways in which urban areas in the UK may need to adapt and change in order to meet the challenge of climate change and, in particular, deliver a 60% reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2050. Investigates what three Scottish cities would need to do in order to meet the 60% reduction target. Findings reinforce the need for urgent action at national and local level to find different transition pathways to a low-carbon city of the future.
