The net balance of Chartered Surveyors reporting a fall than a rise in house prices improved from -75.8 to -75.3 in December. The average number of transactions per surveyor (over the last three months) fell to 10.1%, once again setting a new low for activity. New buyer enquiries and newly agreed sales balances are still negative but improved. Inventory of stocks on surveyor's books dropped to 78.1 in December. The price balance in Scotland fell to its lowest level since the start of the current crisis, while the balance in Northern Ireland improved slightly.
