Presents the results of research carried out to assess the effect of setting up the Highland Housing Alliance and the Land Bank Fund on the supply of housing in the Highlands, and whether such schemes should be established elsewhere in Scotland. The Land Bank Fund was established in 2005 by the Highland Council, with funding from the Scottish Government of £5m. The Highland Housing Alliance was set up at the same time, to bring together a number of Registered Social Landlords and Trusts, with the aim of increasing the supply of housing in the area.
