The purpose of this guidance note is to assist letting agents to provide residential letting services competently and with reasonable regard to the interest of their clients and prospective tenants. This guidance note is written on the basis of law in England and Wales as at 1 October 2008, and this edition has been approved by the three main professional bodies: RICS, ARLA and NAEA. As such, it provides an industry-wide standard for residential lettings.
