This information paper is an update and upgrade of the Renewables Briefing Paper published by the RICS Rural Professional Group in 2007 (see L140849). It is designed to meet the immediate needs of non-specialist surveyors in the UK who do not have detailed knowledge of renewable energy issues. It is intended to act as a resource guide for those seeking to make a basic assessment of the options for farmers and householders, and not as a comprehensive guide to renewable energy. Chapter 13 and Appendices 1 and 2 list web-based sources for more detailed information.
