The 2006 Companies Act set out changes to company law, including replacing the memorandum and articles of association of new companies with a single document (the articles). These changes came fully into force on 1 October 2009, and new prescribed articles for RTM companies will come into force on 9 November. This document provides background to and guidance on the changes.
