Summary: Presents results of Office of Fair Trading's survey of local authority trading standards services. This survey sought to find information on the nature of complaints, investigations and enforcement measures taken by the authorities. Part of the OFT's Market Study of Home Buying and Selling, this survey finds that 24% of estate agents were not complying with relevant regulations. Most complaints were related to accusations of non-respect of consumer protection law (see also L146790).
