The mix-adjusted average house price was £208 585 in November 2010 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices fell by 0.6% in the quarter ending November 2010 compared with a rise of 0.9% in the quarter ending August 2010 (seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices rose by 4.7% in England and 3% in Wales but fell in Northern Ireland by 11.3% and by 2.4% in Scotland. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in November 2010 were 2.4% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 4.6% higher. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in November 2010 were 8.9% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 3.7%.
