Presents a summary of results from the 2010 Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey (SVDLS), the 19th in the series. It is the only national data source for vacant and derelict land in Scotland. It highlights that there were 10 771 hectares of derelict and urban vacant land of which 24% were urban vacant and 76% were derelict. Since 2002, there has been an increase in the total amount of derelict and urban vacant (from 10 646 hectares in 2002 to 10 771 hectares in 2010). An average of 537 hectares of derelict and urban vacant land was brought back into use each year since 2002.
