The mix-adjusted average house price was £208 552 in January 2011 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices fell by 0.4% in the quarter ending January 2011 compared with a decrease of 0.2% in the quarter ending Octobter 2010 (seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices rose by 1%. in England but fell by 1.8% in Wales and 3.2% in Scotland in Northern Ireland by 14.1%. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in January 2011 were 1.5% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 0.1%. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in December 2010 were 8.6% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 0.1% lower.
