Online resources: Summary: UK house prices decreased by 1.6% since May 2010 and by 0.5% since April 2011. The mix-adjusted average house price was £203 528 in May 2011 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices fell by 0.1% in the quarter ending April 2011 as well as a decrease of 0.3% in the quarter ending February 2011(seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices fell by 1.3% in England, 2.5% in Scotland, 6.1% in Wales and 13.2% in Northern Ireland. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in May 2011 were 2.1% lower than a year ago. Average house prices paid by former owner occupiers decreased by 1.4%. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in May 2011 were 7.8% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 2.3% lower.
