The total volume of all new construction orders in the first quarter of 2012 is estimated to have grown by 4.6 per cent compared with the fourth quarter of 2011, but is 3.6 per cent lower than the first quarter of 2011. In a volatile series, new orders remain at a relatively low level. There were decreases in infrastructure new work and private new housing.
