Summary: A mid term review of the Coalition Government's housing policy is highly critical of its efforts to reduce overcrowding, homelessness, assistance with social housing costs and affordability issues in private rented sector due to soaring rents. Notes evictions, repossessions and arrears are down and additional funding is available to bring empty homes back into occupancy. Some progress is being made to improve housing supply, simplify planning procedures and make home ownership a reality rather than a dream. Uses a green, amber and red traffic light system to measure progress.
