Two part report setting out three independently produced, costed options to enable Parliament to reach a decision on the means of restoring and renewing the Palace of Westminster. The three suggested delivery options include 1) continuing repairs and replacement of the fabric and systems of the Palace over a significant period of time 2)A defined, rolling programme of more substantial repairs and replacement over a long period, but still working around continued use of the Palace and 3) scheduling works over a more concentrated period with parliamentary activities moved elsewhere to allow unrestricted access for the delivery of works. The proposals differ on time and costs. A new Joint Select Committee of the two Houses is now expected to be formed to review and consider the findings of the report. The Committee will recommend a preferred way forward, with a decision in principle expected to be made by members of both Houses in spring 2016. Part 1 includes Executive Summary, Glossary of terms used in report and detailed breakdown of the proposed delivery options. Part 2 contains supporting documentation.
