This standard is intended to measure retail buildings. Outlines three measurement methods. Construction gross areas (CGA) measures an area for estimating construction costs or for valuation using the replacement value approach. Exterior gross area (EGA) measures gross leasable area, common area, parking and non-leasable and its key use is for calculating rent and common area service charges and is sometimes referred to as gross building area. Gross leasable area (GLA) measures the total enclosed floor area designed for the exclusive use of an occupant.
