A collection of maps originally published in 1916 updated in 1940 were used by the LCC's Architect's Department to record cumulative damage to buildings caused by air raids and V-weapons. Includes a brief history on the bombing of London, describes the role of architects and district surveyors in helping out with civil defence and search and rescue and excerpts from reports of local damage from members of staff. Lists incidents from August 1940 to March 1945 including damage to both public buildings in central London and properties in residenital areas. Statistics record civilian casualities and war damage to buildings. Photographs illustrate damage. Original maps are held by London Metropolitan Archives (LMA)
