To date the planning system has been under-funded, and whilst government planning delivery grants have helped, the fees that councils can charge are still far short of the costs of dealing with applications, especially large ones. Views are invited from all users of the planning system - developers, councils and the general public to ensure that fees are increased sensibly and proportionately.
