Calibrating the calibrators
Language: English Series: Surveying World ; 1(1) November 1992, 37-39(2)Publication details: 1992Subject(s): Summary: Quality assurance requirements and an awareness of the need for calibration and testing of EDM instruments has led to several initiatives. One is the establishment by Thames Water of an 8-pillar calibration baseline at Ashford Common, which has been accredited by NAMAS. The RICS working group recommended that the `Thames` Baseline should be measured using the 2-colour Terra Technology Terrameter EDM instrument (LDM-2). A grant from the RICS Education Trust enabled the only Terrameter in Europe to be brought from CERN. The project is here described.| Item type | Current library | Call number | Copy number | Status | Barcode | |
