Re-defining the length of Britain
Language: English Series: Land & Minerals Surveying ; 7(8) August 1989, 379-380(2)Publication details: 1989Subject(s): Summary: Describes the establishment of a VLBI station in the UK. The station will be used as a `Fiducial Station` for a European-wide survey, the European Reference Frame (EUREF). The computation of the EUREF network will involve the observations between the mobile VLBI station in the UK and fixed VLBI sites over the rest of Europe, the GPS EUREF observations and observations at a number of satellite-laser-ringing sites. It will then be possible to define a position on the Earth`s surface in a reference system that is compatible over the whole of Europe, an over the whole world (WGS84 datum).| Item type | Current library | Call number | Copy number | Status | Barcode | |
