Most tenders are based on a detailed analysis of project details and costs which takes a considerable amount of time and involves considerable resources. This paper presents a documentation of the methods of preparing tenders by the larger contractors in the form of a model showing the interrelationships between tasks and all items of data that are used in the process. Data to be potentially used in the tendering process is defined and gives a better opportunity for the more effective use of information systems , thus improving efficiency.
