In the arbitration case "Piper Double Glazing Ltd v DC Contracts", counsel representing D, the defeated defendant, asserted that only a solicitor`s charges, advocate`s fees and the cost of litigants in person could be recovered by taxation at the High Court. P, the plaintiffs, were represented by James R Knowles and were therefore not eligible.
