Examines "Barclays Bank v Fairclough Building Ltd and others" CA (1994), in which it was held that subcontractors were negligent in contaminating surrounding land when cleaning an asbestos roof. However, the contractors were also found to be contributorily negligent in not ensuring that their subcontractors would take necessary precautions to avert contamination.
