A High Court decision allowing the Church Commissioners and St Bartholomew`s Hospital to buy back land from British Rail at the price originally paid in 1849/50 under compulsory purchase powers, with the attendant possibilities of huge profits through redevelopment, has been overturned by the Court of Appeal.
