Stresses the value of reading about, and taking note of, other surveyors' and lawyers' mistakes. Among the lessons gleaned from the cases considered is that surveyors should leave the drafting of leases to lawyers. They should also ensure any terms and conditions, or disclaimers, they have are used. In addition, if giving valuation advice, this should be given properly or else the surveyor should expressly state that his comments are not intended to be a formal valuation.
