Beckett aims to revitalise rural economy

Mrs Beckett's first key task will be to oversee the integration of MAFF into a Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The new department will have responsibility for agriculture, the food industry, environment policy, rural development, wildlife and sustainable development.
