Summary: A pilot scheme to extend hours for court sittings will begin at Manchester City Magistrates' Court in Spring 2002 and will run for a maximum of 6 months. By increasing court sittings, government hopes to speed up the justice system, reducing delays and case postponements and improve access to justice for all.
