The Act reforms the existing land registration system and introduces electronic conveyancing (e-conveyancing) through the Land Registry. The Act provides a framework for transferring and creating interests in registered land by e-conveyancing of formal documents. It is recommended that access to the e-conveyancing network should be controlled by the Land Registry. The Lord Chancellor would be able to regulate the way in which electronic transactions are carried out.
