Looks at the process of mediation/arbitration from the standpoint of personal experience. Points out that the process was more effective once they were relieved of the duties and responsibilities of arbitrator, so that as mediator they could, by agreement and voluntarily, bring out the interests and weaknesses of the parties in order to expand the dialogue and achieve settlement.
