When it was mostly destroyed by fire in 1998, S sued P for its losses. P had not followed advice to install non-combustible wall panels in a vulnerable room and S's staff had been negligent in allowing a fire to start. Judge found P liable for the damages caused by the fire once it damaged the rest of the factory, having not been contained in the original room. Advises that once a danger has been highlighted it should be acted on or the decision may cause future problems.
