Uses a variety of cases to illustrate the meaning of the word 'dispute' in the context of adjudication, for the purposes of s108 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. Examines the case law which has developed since the passing of the Act. Concludes that the adjudication process sometimes results in disputes being taken to adjudication rather than being resolved by negotiation.
