UK service sector expands significantly in October

The seasonally-adjusted "CIPS/Reuters business activity index" rose to 59.1 from 58.7 in September, highlighting the strong turnaround in the sector following the subdued growth period during the first half of 2003. Both levels of incoming new business and outstanding work continued to rise in October.
