As part of the government's Planning Reform Agenda from summer 2004 authorities will have to prepare Local Development Frameworks for the future of their areas. The first guide is the 'Guide to Procedures', explaining how the planning system will work, the second guide is 'Creating Local Development Frameworks', which has been prepared by Arups and has been written to advise local authorities and others in the preparation of the frameworks. Views on the guides should be made by 16 January, before they are finalised and the commencement of the Planning Bill in the summer of 2004.
