"Housing audit: assessing the design quality of new homes" is the first phase of the biggest ever audit of housing developments in England and calls on new home buyers to be more demanding. CABE investigated 100 new housing developments across London, the southeast and the east of England, scoring them on their design and suitability for the area where they were built; 22% of the schemes were judged poor, 61% were average and only 17% were good or very good.
