Breaking the mould
Series: Property Week ; 70(5) 4 February 2005, 70-71(2)Publication details: 2005Subject(s): Summary: A report to be published by RICS, "Mould inside living spaces in England", aims to bring to the attention of the British property industry the problem of mould in many homes and offices. In the United States this has led to many claims for personal injury and there are fears that there could now be a wave of similar lawsuits in the UK. RICS has commissioned a study to see if the mould that has been at the centre of the US litigation is present in Britain. The research found that one or more of the moulds were found in a minority of the properties surveyed but there is no link between these moulds and their claimed toxic effects and the mould is only a problem for people who are particularly susceptible such as those with respiratory problems.| Item type | Current library | Call number | Copy number | Status | Barcode | |
