However builders' optimism over their outlook for 2005 improves modestly with large companies more upbeat than smaller firms. Site visitors in May compared to the same month a year ago declined to -37% and net reservations to -48%. A balance of -31% house builders reported that prices fell in May but a +23% of builders expected sales to be higher in 2005 than in 2004, with large companies considerably more optimistic than smaller firms. Averaged over the last three months only Wales saw a rise in the level of net reservations with falls in all other regions.
