Stakeholders have raised concerns over the maximum dimensions of a caravan with reference to energy conservation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The definition is one of the key building blocks upon which the legislative framework is built that governs caravan activity. The legal definition of a caravan applies to all types of caravan: caravans used as permanent residential accommodation for Gypsy and Traveller sites and park home estates and caravan accommodation used for holiday purposes.
