HBF regional survey of house builders August 2005

Language: English Series: Housing Market Report ; (160) September 2005, 6-10(5)Publication details: 2005Subject(s): Summary: Presents the full results from the August 2005 Home Builders' Federation (HBF) regional survey of house builders. It shows evidence of stabilisation in the market. With reservations currently around the same level seen a year ago and site visitor levels still below those of a year ago, it suggests that the proportion of visitors making reservations (the conversion rate) has gone up quite considerably in recent months. The monthly balance between both site visitors and net reservations indicates a small increase in activity in August. The rate at which prices are declining has slowed and the use of sales incentives is no longer growing at the rapid rates seen at the end of 2004. August saw a modest improvement in industry optimism for sales volumes for 2005. Tables and charts cover the results of the survey.
