Asks whether the "Pye v United Kingdom" ruling (L131742) which concerned the limited area of land registration has more far-reaching implications? Has it finished off the doctrine of adverse possession at least in respect of registered land? Concludes that the ruling is unlikely to open the floodgates of adverse possession cases but Convention rights are likely to play a continuing role in property law, especially where a person's enjoyment of possessions is disturbed by state intervention .
