Language: English Series: RICS Building Surveying Faculty The Journal ; July 2006 7(1)Publication details: 2006Subject(s): Summary: Considers the challenges posed to building control surveyors by present and future changes to Building Regulations. Whilst building control surveyors suffer from staff shortages and have been accused of failing to enforce compliance with existing regulations, particularly on energy efficiency, it is generally accepted that designers and other construction professionals rely overmuch on building control surveyors to assume responsibility for site compliance. The Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004 s9 places responsibility for compliance on an Appointed Person, emphasising that responsibility rests with the person having the works carried out.| Item type | Current library | Call number | Copy number | Status | Barcode | |
