The key to the process was Panaloc's use of computer numerical control which converts an architect's drawing into a virtual 3D model which is then interrogated to find the most efficient way of actually constructing each property. In an area where there are labour shortages, the process also enabled the number of assembly workers to be kept to a minimum. The properties comprised individual floor, wall and ceiling panels, assembled into two boxes, ground and first floor.
