Four articles tackling expert witness issues. "Closing down" looks at the controversial practice of expert shopping and illustrates how cases such as "Beck v Ministry of Defence" ([2003] EWCA Civ 1043, [2003] All ER (D) 406) are discouraging this practice. "Expert justice" considers whether expert witnesses need protection in the disciplinary regime following "Meadow v General Medical Council" ([2006] EWCA 1390, L135561). "More to learn" questions whether training for expert witnesses meets the needs of experts or the needs of the training providers. "Mistakes in court" discusses recent cases involving elementary faults, conflicts of interest and causation.
