Examines the rights and redress available to purchasers of property sold under false pretences. Notes that inaccurate statements must take the form of a legal representation for prosecution to be successful. The test is what conclusion would be inferred by a reasonable person in light of a seller's statements. Sets out the legal duties owed by estate agents. Explains that Home Information Pack related complaints are governed by an independent code of practice supervised by the Ombudsman for Estate Agents. All estate agents must belong to an approved redress scheme.
