The whole life carbon dioxide emissions of commercial buildings has problems arising due to current UK construction legislation because the significant amounts of carbon used to make and maintain a building are ignored; proposes a solution to correct this problem through the use of a new, simple carbon metric known as Carbon Profiling which quantifies all sources of emissions associated with buildings.
