520 _aDiscusses the Strategic Forum for the Construction Industry which was formed after the general election of May 2001. Gives a brief background of the history of the organisation as it had replaced the Construction Industry Board. Explains that it is a strategic body not an implementation mechanism and has set itself five key themes including improving site conditions, planning for success and developing education. Argues that the forum should concentrate on three important issues, the first of which is to get the message to as many clients as possible that they should choose their supply-side team on the basis of value rather than the lowest price. Generally praises the new body for its structure and says it appears to be well led and has a major role to perform.
